Compass Schools Conference
Canberra, 6-9th March 2010

What?

The Compass Schools Conference is a four day residential conference for exceptional year 12 students. Through the Biblical themes of creation, fall and redemption, students will be encouraged to wrestle with how their faith, life and vocation connect.

Activities include lectures, discussion forums and small groups, as well as organised visits to the Federal Parliament, the Australian War Memorial, and plenty of time for fun and meeting other students.

Why?

Many young adults fail to see how their faith applies to their daily lives, their vocations and the issues of our world. As a result, some lose their faith and many more are sidelined from living lives of influence because of a failure to see how the Gospel changes everything. The Compass Schools Conference aims to address this disconnect by looking at how the Bible shapes our worldviews, and by wrestling with the implications of the Gospel for contemporary issues of culture and society. We hope to see young adults challenged to live as leaders who faithfully translate the Gospel into the culture around them.

Who is it for?

The Compass Schools Conference is aimed at year 12 students (in 2010), particularly those who have demonstrated the potential to be future influencers for Christ in society. Students who will benefit the most are those who are willing to thoughtfully and actively engage.
